In the Japa 2
Biodun enters his house holding a package. He walks to the living room and sits down.
“Eeh, who’s there, go comot the things we dey for car.” He says to one of his children.
“Daddy is back!” She yells , “Goodevening Sir”, she greets and genuflects, running outside followed by her brother.
“Oh honey, you are back, welcome.” His wife Funke comes out of the kitchen. “How is work today? And shopping?"
“Hmm…shopping ke?” He snickered with a laugh.
“Ah ah, this one you are talking like this, what happened?”
“Na you send me shopping abi? Sidon make I tell you wetin happened for shopping.” He says to his wife Funke.
“I went to the store, na so I waka looking for the towel you say make I buy for you, towel I no find.
So I kukuma found a store person, and tell am say , “Please,I am looking for towel”, she said she doesn’t understand. Ah,I explained and explained tire say me I dey find towel, towel for cleaning, for drying…, then she said “Oh, tawul” Me, I come shock dey think say “tawul ke?”, but I follow am, na so she come show me the towel oo. Hmmm.
I just smile say, “Yes, na tawul I dey look for. Thank you”
Everyone in his house burst out laughing.
“Daddy! It’s tawul na, which one be towel, this place no be Naija oo” his daughter Dami teased him.
“Abeg make una leave me and your Americana. Take your towel, abi tawul” he replies her and hands her the package.
Funke looks at it and says “But honey, I asked you to buy hand towel not bath towel ni. I can’t use this to wipe hand for kitchen. It’s too big.” Funke said to him between laughter.
Biodun looks at her and says
“Wait, you mean to tell me all this waka today na for nothing? Which kain joke be that?”
